A mother and father in Kasarakote are waiting for their son who went to work on a ship thirteen years ago. Pradeep Raj, the only son of Nagaraj and Chandrawathyweda, natives of Paracutta, went missing while traveling from China to Panama. The parents, who do not even know the reason for their son’s disappearance, are waiting for their son to return.
Their waiting started on May 1, 2009, when the telegram came that Pradeep Raj was missing. Pradeep had started work seven months before he went missing on the ship owned by Singapore-based Cibamar Company. The authorities initially informed the family that Pradeep was missing on his way to Panama from China. Later, the authorities informed that Pradeep may have committed suicide. But the family is still not ready to believe it. Pradeep’s parents are still living in the memories of their son. Iler knocked on all the doors that could be knocked.
Pradeep was also good in studies. He entered the ship’s job after studying polytechnic. After Pradeep, two other Malayalees were missing in a similar situation five months apart.
