On July 22, the acceptance ceremony of two new modern EP2D electric trains took place at the Demikhov machine-building plant. Soon they will arrive in Armenia and work on the busiest Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan route of the South Caucasian Railway, providing passengers with new comfortable conditions.
As Alexey Melnikov, general director of SCR, noted, these electric trains have been successfully operated in Armenia since 2018.
“We are very satisfied with the cooperation with Transmashholding and the enterprises that are part of it, both during the construction of the rolling stock, as well as during operation and warranty service, and we hope that our mutually beneficial cooperation will continue,” A. emphasized. Melnikov.
The EP2D electric train fully complies with all passenger transport safety rules. It has ventilation, sterilization, anti-fire, security systems. Current information about the route can be seen on screens installed in each carriage.
The train is comfortable for everyone, including passengers with mobility problems, free Wi-Fi connection is available. Smoking is prohibited on the train.
