In the summer, the government supported a bill that would allow defendants in criminal cases and investigators to exchange procedural documents electronically. State Duma deputies proposed to supplement the Code of Criminal Procedure with provisions establishing that a petition, statement, complaint, presentation, demand that does not contain a secret protected by federal law can be submitted to the prosecutor, investigator, and others in electronic form, including in the form of an electronic document.
