The indefinite strike of lawyers from the Administration of Justice, formerly known as judicial secretaries, which is on its way to its second week, has paralyzed most of the activity in Galicia, with thousands of suspended acts and a follow-up of more than 70%. This has been reported to Europa Press by sources from the Unión Progresista de Letrados de la Administración de Justicia (UPSJ) in the Galician community, who have indicated that, if some three thousand acts were suspended in the first week (trials, appearances, statements or powers of attorney, ), this week the repercussion will double.

The judicial secretaries of Galicia maintain a participation of more than 70% in this strike, which is indefinite characterwith figures even much higher in some provinces.

Throughout the last few days They have held several rallies, including one last Friday in the Praza do Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela. In addition, they have held meetings with different legal operators (the president of the Superior Court of Xustiza de Galicia, the Superior Prosecutor of Galicia, magistrates, lawyers, solicitors or social graduates) to convey their situation to them. a meeting with the general director of Xustiza de la Xunta, Jos Tronchoni, who promised to expose the problem in parliamentary headquartersas explained by UPSJ.

The follow-up of the strike at the national level is 80% and more than 90,000 signs have been suspended throughout the country. In addition to the paralyzation of the hearings and other acts, blocking in payment procedures compensation, pensions or consignment of fines, since it is the court clerks who manage the accounts of the judicial offices. In the case of Galicia, in the first week of unemployment, these accounts had an accumulated balance of about 5,000 million euros, when the average is about 500 million less.


With this strike at the national level, the judicial clerks demand that the Ministry of Justice fulfill the commitments acquired with this group last April and, among other improvements, carry out the adequacy of their wages to the new functions and responsibilities that they have been carrying out since 2009.
