When asked about the movement to abolish quota, Habib Dhali, a fourth year student of Department of Plant Science, Dhaka University, said that quota can be kept for backward people, minorities and people with special needs. Those who get freedom fighter allowance, they are wealthy. Quota of their children, so far it was fine. But, giving 30 percent quota to grandsons is unreasonable.
Another fourth year student in Zoology Department of Dhaka University. Musa told RisingBD that the quota system is a curse for talent. In the current quota system, it is difficult to get a job without quota. This quota system will further increase our unemployment. Therefore, want to cancel the quota system.
Incidentally, the decision to cancel the quota system in the first and second class government jobs has been declared illegal by the High Court. The High Court bench of Justice KM Kamrul Quader and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the judgment on June 5 by declaring the rule issued in this regard as appropriate.
