The Sudanese army announced the arrest of a number of officers in the Omdurman Movement Command, on charges of preparing a coup.
Sudanese media reported that “Sudanese Army Intelligence in the Wadi Saydna military region in Omdurman arrested a number of officers in the Omdurman Motor Vehicles Command, on charges of preparing a coup.”
The media revealed that the arrest campaign targeted active officers in the Operations Department in Omdurman in particular.
An informed source told Sudanese media: “The detained officers who were placed under severe suspension are the commander of the reserve mobile in the Sarkab camp, the director of the technical department of the air defense, the person responsible for radars and anti-drones jamming devices, and the official of strategic support and support operations for armored sites.”
The source added, “Preparations are underway to arrest the brigadier general and commander of one of the movements in the city of Omdurman, and all of them are detained under the guise of preparing a coup.”
