The Supreme Council of State discusses developing services in the civil registry

The Second Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of State, Dr. Omar Al-Obaidi, held a face-to-face meeting between the National Security Committee of the Council, the Head of the Civil Status Authority, Major General Tariq Al-Thaman, the Deputy Head of the Authority for the National Number, and the Directors of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Departments of the Authority.

During the meeting, the head of the authority presented “a briefing on the work of the authority and its achievements with regard to developing services, electronic archiving of the database, and developing services in the civil registry in a way that serves the interest of the citizen and preserves the Libyan identity, with close follow-up of the work and performance of all branches and offices affiliated with the Civil Status Authority.”

The meeting also addressed “the issue of cooperation between the Authority and the High Elections Commission and the process of electronic linking between them, in addition to the efforts of the Civil Status Authority and the procedures it is taking to match citizens’ data with the civil status system to control the Authority’s records and provide reliable and accurate databases during the upcoming national constitutional and electoral entitlements.”

At the end of the meeting, the Second Deputy, accompanied by the Chairman of the Committee, honored the Head of the Civil Status Department and his companions and presented shields on behalf of the Supreme Council of State in appreciation of them and their efforts in raising the efficiency and capabilities of the Civil Status Department.
