Prime Video announced that The Terminal List
Season 2 will premiere all eight episodes on October 21, 2026. Chris Pratt returns as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece in a globe-trotting espionage thriller based on Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer,
following a four-year gap since the series debut.
The Four-Year Gap and Global Production Schedule
It has taken just over four years for The Terminal List to return to Amazon, marking an unusually long hiatus for a major streaming series. That timeline stems from Hollywood strikes, international filming demands, and Chris Pratt’s exceptionally busy schedule, which included at least six movie projects since 2022 such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
and The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Production for the eight-episode second season began in the spring of 2025 and wrapped in October 2025 following a massive global shoot that took the cast and crew across South Africa, North America, and Morocco. Pratt revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that post-production was well underway, with six of the eight episodes fully locked.
To bridge the multi-year gap between seasons, Amazon launched a prequel series titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, starring Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, which concluded airing in September 2025. That prequel performed well with critics, setting the stage for a broader franchise universe.
Plot, Cast Additions, and the Journey of True Believer
Season 2 adapts Jack Carr’s second novel, Deadline, which thrusts James Reece onto a path of violent redemption and new purpose after he finishes his original list. The psychological revenge structure of the first season expands into an international espionage narrative stretching across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
Pratt underwent significant physical transformation for the new episodes. He stated that he got as emaciated as possible
to portray a fugitive Reece who gets lost at sea early in the season, aided during filming by a severe stomach bug.
The expanded ensemble features returning fan favorites alongside prominent new faces. Tom Hopper returns as former Navy SEAL Raife Hastings, Constance Wu as journalist Katie Buranek, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as CIA contractor Jules Landry, who sports a striking mullet demanded by the creators. New additions include Gabriel Luna as Freddy Strain, a former SEAL Team 6 Senior Chief and CIA Ground Branch officer whose belief that Reece survived pulls the protagonist out of hiding. The cast also features Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, and Shiraz Tzarfati.
Binge Release Strategy on Prime Video
In a notable scheduling departure for Amazon Prime Video, the platform will drop all eight episodes of The Terminal List Season 2 simultaneously as a binge release on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The premiere date was formally confirmed during the 2026 Upfront announcement on May 11.
The series streams globally across more than 240 countries and territories.

The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media. Executive producers include Chris Pratt through Indivisible Productions, writer and showrunner David DiGilio, author Jack Carr, Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick through Fuqua Films, former Army Ranger and writer Max Adams, and former Navy SEAL, writer, actor, and technical advisor Jared Shaw.
Pratt has expressed enthusiasm for continuing his role as Reece for an extended run, noting that he enjoys playing a grounded character free of snarky comedy, especially now that his commitments to Marvel and Nintendo franchises have wound down. Behind-the-scenes discussions have already touched on expanding the franchise further.
