Thrissur > Tuition teacher arrested for sexually assaulting sixteen-year-old student in Thrissur. The incident happened in Mannuthi. When the student showed mental problems, the family had subjected the child to counselling. The student told the counselor. Then the Child Welfare Committee was informed.
According to the instructions of the Child Welfare Committee, the Mannuthi Police registered a case and conducted an investigation. The 37-year-old teacher who was produced in court was remanded. The teacher was arrested under the POCSO Act.
The teacher, who was separated from her husband, started taking tuition at home during the Kovid period. They had no children. The teacher had previously worked as a trainer at a fitness center. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old was subjected to medical examination. The police also recorded a confidential statement. If the name information comes out, the students who have gone for tuition with the teacher will have to face mental problems. Therefore, the police have instructed the concerned persons not to disclose the name or other details of the accused.
