by time news

The turnout at the preliminary voting of “United Russia” at 17:00 on May 30 was 9 million 638 thousand people, indicated on the party’s website. About 6 million people voted via the Internet and another 3 million 625 thousand – in person, at polling stations. In the Far East, preliminary voting has already ended: 650 thousand people took part in it.

The primaries of “United Russia” are held from 24 to 30 May in electronic form. On the last day of voting, polling stations were also available in 43 regions of the country. The final decision on the nomination of certain candidates is made by the party congress scheduled for June 16.

As Kommersant previously reported, teachers and employees of utilities in various regions said that the leadership was actively persuading them to register non-electronic voting for the primaries. The Uchitel trade union appealed to United Russia with a request to inform the regional branches of the party about the inadmissibility of forcing teachers to participate in preliminary voting.

According to Kommersant’s information, in a number of cases the federal leadership of the party provided assistance in the primaries to their preferred candidates. This time, about two-thirds of the current deputies of the State Duma from United Russia participate in the primaries, and in nine single-mandate constituencies they compete with each other.
