Within the framework of the Davos World Economic Forum, President Vahagn Khachaturyan had a meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
RA President’s Office informs: “During the conversation, the effective cooperation of more than 30 years between Armenia and the Office of the High Commissioner was positively evaluated by both sides.
During the meeting, reference was made to the humanitarian and social problems of those forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh in September 2023 and the steps to solve them.
Filippo Grandi was particularly interested in the social and housing security conditions of more than 100 thousand Artsakh Armenian refugees and other humanitarian issues. In this context, the President of the Republic presented in detail the programs and measures implemented by the Armenian government in a short period of time, which are aimed at solving both primary and complex problems of forcibly displaced people.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue working contacts and close cooperation in the direction of solving the existing problems.
