Time.news – The Pentagon has announced the sending of additional military aid to Ukraine worth one billion dollars. The new package contains more Himars missile systems, an armament that has made a difference in recent battles against the Russians, surface-to-air missiles, Javelin anti-tank devices and various ammunition.

It is the Biden administration’s eighteenth provision in this regard and, reports the Defense Department, represents the “largest single shipment of weapons and military equipment.”

The aid package includes ‘Himars’ mobile artillery systems; 75,000 artillery ammunition; surface-to-air missile systems; one thousand Javelins, small anti-tank weapons; 50 armored vehicles, as well as military and medical equipment consisting of emergency kits, bandages and monitors.

With this allocation, the amount of aid sent to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden administration’s mandate rises to 9.8 billion dollars.

“Today, the United States cleared its largest security assistance package to date for Ukraine. This package adds additional ammunition, weapons and equipment to Ukraine to help meet its critical security needs while defending the Village”. US President Joe Biden wrote it on Twitter after the Pentagon’s announcement of the new aid package.

“I am personally grateful to the American people and to President Joe Biden for allocating another unprecedented $ 1 billion aid package for the security of Ukraine.” President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
“Every dollar of this aid is a step towards the defeat of the aggressor”, continues the tweet, “we will always remember the support of the United States when it was most needed”.
