The American company EpiSci will develop a program capable of detecting hypersonic missiles in flight using satellites. This was reported by Space News, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

According to him, the company’s contract with the US Space Development Agency is valued at $1.6 million and is valid for two years. Space News notes that the program’s algorithms will be based on the work of artificial intelligence. It is expected that the program will gradually rely on data from 100 satellites.

According to the publication, EpiSci specializes in artificial intelligence for autonomous drones and “increasing the effectiveness of combat pilots.” Some of these tools are said to “allow pilots to respond more quickly to threats” and “team with unmanned aircraft.” EpiSci is expected to test its hypersonic missile tracking program using Raytheon Corporation’s missile attack simulators.
