The concert at the ‘Festa del Mandorlo in Fiore’ was an unsurpassed mix of rock and Mohawk tradition
It was 1994 when Robbie Robertson, leader of «The Band», performed in Agrigento in a concert-event in which he found an unsurpassed synthesis between rock and the customs (in the broadest sense) of the American Indians. The occasion was the fiftieth Almond Blossom Festival. The exhibition was an act of gratitude towards his origins: Robertson- passed away at the age of 80 – was the son of a Mohawk. Despite being an international rock star, she dreamed of a project dedicated to the music of her ancestors: and a year after that historic performance, in fact, she published «Music for Native Americans».
