This is the idea that the olotines had Mercè Llimona and Maria Planagumàand which resulted in the creation of the Volka Fest, an event that will be held on the days September 1 and 2 to the plaça de l’U d’octubre I went to the room The Carbonera of the Main Theater of Olot.
The festival has all kinds of disciplines artistic and has a program designed from proposals like street theatre, concerts, alternative DJ sessions, dance, audiovisuals, exhibitions and live mural art.
The event was born after the two creators of the Volkà Fest participated in the project Stalkers. In this, a group of young people aged between 18 and 25 receive a accompaniment and immersion in live arts. But in this year’s edition there was a change, a step further: the artists had to organize a cultural activity in their municipalities. This is where the Olot festival was born: Llimona and Planagumà, with the tools they were given, had to manage the budgetthe promotion and the creation of new audiences. And mainly, make a program with the following premise: young emerging artists linked to the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone.
On the other hand, the festival, after a series of “inconveniences and complications”, as reported by the organizers through the social networks of the event, had to to change the name of the project. Previously, the name given to this was Volcánic Fest.
