The Unión Financiera Base Oviedo has put the icing on the cake for its new project in the Silver Honor Division with the incorporation of Óscar Camacho, a 24-year-old right winger from Alicante with whom the squad is considered closed, with whom he hopes to take a step forward and not simply settle for permanence in the category.

“I’ve been closely following this project for a few years, I’ve had teammates who have played here and they’ve all spoken to me very well. It’s a serious and competitive project and I didn’t hesitate when they called me, it’s a great opportunity. After my injury, I’m looking forward to making the leap back to the Silver Honor Division,” said the new blue player after confirming his signing.

Camacho began his senior stage at Puerto Sagunto, playing in the First National and with sporadic appearances in the Asobal League. In the top flight he played the following two seasons, until a knee injury sidelined him in the 21-22 season. The last one he started at Santoña, with which he scored 79 goals in 26 games, and culminated in the Romo de Primera Nacional, with 21 goals in 7 games. Unión Financiera is confident that Camacho’s full recovery will allow him to see the player who promised at the beginning of his career enter the elite.

Jaime González, renewed

Óscar Camacho’s movement adds to the renewal of youth squad Jaime González, who at only 18 years old is one of the great values of the lower categories. The young full-back made his debut in the 2020-21 season with the first team, still a cadet-age player. Since then, he has alternated his presence with the youth team and the subsidiary with training sessions and games with the first team.

“I am very happy for the renewal and for continuing to be part of this project for one more year. I am looking forward to meeting my teammates again and meeting the new ones, also to face this season with great enthusiasm and achieve our goals,” said the youth squad player.

The Base squad is finally made up of the renewed Jaime González, Gonzalo Carou, Fede Wermbter, Paulo Vinicius, Jayro Pérez, David Ortega, Raúl Blanco, Rubén Rozada and Rubén Menéndez and the signings Ruesga, Franceschetti, Javi Sanz, Juan Gamallo and Víctor Alonso.
