The works for the first phase of the ‘Parc Sagunt’ intermodal platform in Valencia have been awarded

Espais Econmics Empresarial has awarded the consortium formed by Rover Infraestructuras, Rover Rail and Becsa the first phase of works for the Parc Sagunt II intermodal terminal, in the Sagunto logistics area in Valencia. In this stage, the work will focus on the railway work: tracks, electrification and signaling and safety installations.

The contracting of the works is defined in the construction project prepared by Ardanuy engineering, Civis associate consultants and TRN Tryet in September 2023. During the drafting phase it was decided to divide the definition of the actions of phase 1 into two construction projects; one corresponding to the eminently railway work and another to the urbanization.

The main works will focus on the execution of the track pool, electrification and signaling and security installations. Additionally, associated works will be undertaken such as the loading and unloading bay, a heavy vehicle parking lot and the maintenance warehouse.

Along with these works, different structures will be developed to ensure permeability and access to the plots of the logistics area. Among them, an underpass under the access branch to the General Interest Railway Network (RFIG), to provide continuity to the road planned in the urbanization project and another to allow access to the plot TI-2.1-

In parallel, Espais Econmics Empresarials has awarded the technical services of this first phase to the consortium formed by Ardanuy, Civis and Typsa.

The projects to complete the urban development of the Sagunto Logistics area, with an intermodal zone with rail access, will complement the future remodeling of the Valencia Fuente San Luis Railway Complex as a reference terminal.

The opening of this platform, Parc Sagunt II, will allow the contribution of goods to the Mediterranean Corridor, by rail to the rest of Europe, and also to the national corridors of the Center (Valencia-Madrid) and the Cantabrian-Mediterranean (Valencia-Zaragoza-North) , as routes of exit and entry of goods both to the port of Valencia-Sagunto, and to Valencian industries in general.
