Yesterday, Saturday, the World Bank announced its agreement to provide additional financing of $250 million for the Education Support Program in Morocco, in addition to the original $500 million program approved in 2019.

The bank said in a statement that this financing aims to support the Moroccan government in implementing a very ambitious education reform agenda that includes expanding the range of quality early childhood education services, supporting teaching practices in primary and secondary education, and strengthening administrative capacities and accountability in order to improve learning outcomes.

The bank indicated that the education support program, since its inception in 2019, has contributed to raising the level of quality of early childhood education, strengthening the capabilities of the workforce in the field of teaching, and management and governance capabilities, especially at the regional level.

This additional funding aims to achieve more ambitious results for this sector while facilitating access to education and achieving flexibility in it, in a more comprehensive and effective manner in the post-COVID-19 era.
