On September 7, RA Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan and South Caucasus Regional Director of the World Bank (WB) Sebastian Molyneux discussed issues and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, water use, energy, tourism, and infrastructure development.

Sebastian Molyneux reaffirmed that the WB is ready to continue and expand cooperation, supporting Armenia’s economic development.

As a priority, efficient and energy-saving programs were considered.

Reference was made to the problem of balanced development of communities, in connection with which the Deputy Prime Minister said that in the near future administrative territorial changes will take place, as a result of which the communities should become economically stronger with adequate supply of agricultural equipment, modern garbage disposal, energy saving, while creating conditions for the development of human capital.

The interlocutors emphasized the development of small cities in Armenia in order to decentralize and create new urban environments outside of Yerevan.
