On June 29, 2023, two gas stations of the world-famous Shell brand were officially launched in Armenia, at 6/3 and 15/1 of Artashat Highway. The licensed representative of the brand in Armenia is “Royal Oil” JSC.
Among the guests of the official opening event were RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Shell Brands International AG General Manager of Licensed Markets Kai-Uwe Witterstein, Shell International BV Middle East, North Africa and CIS Vice President for Corporate Relations Joanna Kuensberg and others official guests.
Welcoming the guests and congratulating the Shell brand on the occasion of entering the Armenian market, RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan notes. “I congratulate all of us on this important day. Shell is one of the 50 largest companies in the world, and the presence of such brands in our country can be a stimulus for the activation of international investments in Armenia. This is not just a gas station, this is a new culture, with the quality of its products and level of services, Shell will change the demand for services provided in the field of gas stations in Armenia, and we will see a qualitative change in the general market. In this regard, our enthusiasm is very high.”

According to the cooperation agreement, fuel will be imported to Armenia from the European countries where Shell has an oil refining industry or other partnerships. The fuel will initially be imported from Romania and Greece, then the geography of cooperation will increase and other European countries will be included. By the way, every batch of imported fuel has its own certificate of origin, which shows which country is the supplier.”
Kai-Uwe Witterstein, general manager of Shell Brands International AG licensed markets, says: “We are proud that together with our Armenian partner, Royal Oil, we had the opportunity to make Shell brand services and products available to Armenian drivers.
