– To these complex circumstances, we must add that previously the INT had been going through a period of extreme inactivity. Since the beginning of our management, we have worked to recover the functions that were curtailed from the entity, respecting the spirit of law 24,800. We take on the challenge of moving from monologue to dialogue, generating instances of communication with the different sectors of the theater community. After having begun the journey of this new stage, covid 19 puts before us another challenge of unsuspected dimensions. We thought, based on previous experience, that the situation perhaps had an impact on the sector in a similar way to the avian flu episode in 2009, that is, a couple of weeks of forced stoppage and that was enough. After a prudent time, we realized that we were facing the greatest post-dictatorship crisis. Appealing to the epic of independent theater, we launched the Podesta plan, which means Operational Preservation of Casts and Theater Rooms of Argentinian Theaters. This great program was possible thanks to the sensitivity of a present State and the extraordinary contributions made by the Ministry of Culture of the Nation. Then we had to face the deficits of the post-pandemic with its economic flats caused by the war in Ukraine, the increase in commodities, the suffocation of the International Monetary Fund and the extreme drought.
