Berlin is blossoming into a hub for neobanks – also called neos! If, dear readers, you have not noticed this due to the lack of bank towers, then I would like to teach you otherwise. In alphabetical order, my non-exhaustive list of Neos: N26, Qonto, Raisin (the ones with “world savings”), Revolut, Solarisbank, Trade Republic, Vivid. What did you notice? Two things: It’s the Magnificent Seven. And the Neos all start in the last alphabetical third. I withheld Banxware and DKB specifically for this double proof. The DKB is not a neobank, but as a successful online bank has been a kind of digital thorn in the flesh of the savings banks for many years. For motivational purposes, the DKB is included in my Berlin neo list.
