The Republic of Armenia receives gasoline and diesel fuel from Russia, Iran, Romania, and Bulgaria, but there is no gasoline from other countries, including Azerbaijan, assures Gegham Gevorgyan, the chairman of the State Competition Commission.

Artsvik Minasyan, secretary of the “Armenia” faction, asked Gegham Gevorgyan to answer the question whether we have gasoline of Azerbaijani origin in the gasoline and diesel market.

“Are the organizations operating in this market in Armenia directly or indirectly related to the Azerbaijani organizations and whether the role of the Azerbaijani SOCAR company in the gasoline and diesel market is there or not,” asked the deputy.

Gegham Gevorgyan emphasized that, as he understands, the talks are about their latest deal, which has nothing to do with SOCAR or any other Azerbaijani organization.

“The deal was made between the Georgian company Petrocas, which represents the GULF brand, and the countries of origin are clear. The majority of gasoline and diesel fuel in Armenia comes from Russia’s Denmark, then from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a little from Romania and Bulgaria. I am sure that there is no gasoline of any other country in Armenia. control on the border takes place under the EAEU regime, but this does not prevent us from carrying out substantive control on the spot,” stated Gegham Gevorgyan.
