The public prosecutor is demanding the death penalty against four defendants in the case of couriers of 15,602.23 grams (15.6 kilograms) of crystal methamphetamine and 10,000 ecstasy pills.

“Demanding the death penalty against defendants M Safii alias Ationg, Hendry Iskandar, Fazruddin and Adlan alias Alan,” said Tanjungbalai Prosecutor Sitilisa Evriaty Br Tarigan at the Tanjungbalai District Court, North Sumatra, Thursday (14/3).

The prosecutor assessed that the four defendants were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing criminal acts under Article 114 paragraph 2 of Law 35 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

That is, collectively without rights or against the law, offering to sell or selling, buying, intermediary buying and selling, exchanging, handing over or receiving narcotics in non-plant form that exceeds five grams.

The public prosecutor also assessed that the actions of the four defendants did not support the government which was active in eradicating drugs. Then, the defendant was involved in an international network.

“Meanwhile, the defendant M Safii Alias ​​Ationg has already been convicted in a narcotics crime case,” he said.

As evidence, five plastic sachets containing 5,202.23 grams of methamphetamine, ten plastic sachets containing 10,399.93 grams and 5,000 ecstasy pills weighing 4.5 kilograms were destroyed.

The prosecutor did not hesitate to submit demands against these four defendants, namely the death penalty.
