Las obvious physical differences between men and women have been used throughout history to justify the gender discrimination in favor of man More strength, more height, more body mass… These innate characteristics have played, on many occasions, in favor of the male gender.

However, it seems that this prevalence of the fittest could be near its end. At least if logic and science are applied at an astronomical level.

According to observations and studies carried out from NASA space expeditions, there are several reasons why an all-female crew on a space mission would be much better that one whose members are all men. There are four factors; two of them concern the physical, one the character and a fourth that concerns the future objective of space missions.

1. Smaller Humans

First of all, it has been verified that it is easier and more profitable sending a group of small human beings into space rather than one made up of large members of our species. And usually women tend to be physically smaller. And what advantages does a woman’s body have? Mainly that it needs fewer resources –such as food or oxygen– to survive and, in addition, it generates less waste, which also requires fewer resources to eliminate it. This was demonstrated in the experiments carried out by Kate Greene, a member of a simulated four-month mission carried out by NASA.
