Technical Minister of the Interior Panche Toshkoski has ordered an inspection of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the case of the double murder that rocked North Macedonia at the beginning of December, for which the main accused is Lyupco Palevski.

In his interview with TV 24, Toshkoski did not want to give more details, except that he has doubts about the way the Ministry of Internal Affairs acted in uncovering the case and ordered an investigation to see if the police acted according to procedures and standards. This was reported by BTA.

“Whatever the outcome of the internal review, the public will know. My doubts may be unfounded, but this topic must be closed,” Toshkovski pointed out, who specified that his doubts arose after he assumed the position of Minister of the Interior, and the purpose of the inspection is detailed with both facts and arguments. to verify that the procedures of this investigation have been followed.

The accused for the double murder of 14-year-old Vanya Gyorcheva and 74-year-old Panche Zhezhovski Lupcho Palevski is still in Turkey, where he was arrested after an international search warrant was issued. A few days ago, the Minister of Justice, Krenar Loga, said that the court proceedings on his extradition have ended and Palevski will soon be extradited to North Macedonia.

In early December, after a week-long search for 14-year-old Vanya, the then Minister of the Interior, Oliver Spasovski, announced at a press conference, together with the director of the Skopje Prosecutor’s Office, Gavril Bubevski, that the schoolgirl had been found dead. Spasovski said it was a double murder, as Vanya was kidnapped in the car of 74-year-old Zhezhovski, who was also found dead, and after she was shot, the car was set on fire.

The police arrested three suspects, and the main suspect – Lupco Palevski-Palco had left North Macedonia in the direction of Belgrade, from where he transited through Bulgaria and was intercepted and arrested in Turkey. Charges were also brought against the man who transported Palevski from Belgrade to Turkey, Vanya’s father is also in custody, who is said to have given the accused group information about the girl’s movements.
