Those who want to create an artificial deficit in the egg market were in a hurry, they made a wrong calculation, they made a mistake in terms, Sergey Stepanyan, the president of the RA Poultry Breeders’ Union, said in a conversation with Aysor.am reporter.
“They thought that the eggs they take out of the consumer market will be brought back to the market at a high price,” said Stepanyan.
It should be noted that in the previous two days there was a shortage of eggs and a sharp increase in the price.
The chairman of the Union of Poultry Breeders said that they also noticed it and drew the attention of relevant market control bodies.
“They started taking out a large amount of eggs from the nets, yesterday we stopped it. We have filmed how they use carts to buy eggs from supermarkets, which is simply unacceptable,” said Stepanyan.
There will be no shortage of eggs on the market during Easter, Stepanyan promised, noting that the producers have their resources, everything is calculated. “We also have a reserve for Easter.”
According to the president of the union, the price of releasing an egg is from 58 to 63 drams at the moment.
“Let the respective bodies investigate and follow that chain to the consumer. We are taking all the measures with the tools we have, we have also applied to the relevant bodies, and we have also proposed to create a commission. Or let them control that market. After all, you can’t blame everything on the manufacturer. It is enough for us to produce and provide the people with a quantity, when during the last year, from March to November, we were not able to buy a single chick and a single hatching egg,” said Stepanyan.
He said that 6 eggs were sold for 500 drams yesterday, and the egg with the blower was taken and taken away at once.
“A question arises as to how they take out and carry the egg with the box with that blower. In addition, the manufacturer does not increase the price, but some people take advantage of it. It is not difficult to control. We ensure our production quantity every day. At the moment, we are exporting 800-850 thousand eggs to the market, after a week it will be more than 1 million, because the poultry farms have come under fire,” said the chairman of the Poultry Breeders’ Union.
