The Cuban Human Rights Observatory condemned this Saturday the arrest of the journalist who was taken to the Villa Marista prison, in Havana.
For its part, Generosity Christian Jerusalem expressed that it is necessary to take actions that put pressure on the Castro regime and produce the release of Tan Estrada.
“Is now. The best suited to exert pressure are you and I. From here, do not expect a miracle or mercy from the ruthless regime,” the publication reads.
Activist Irma Broek highlighted that, given the increase in repression and deprivation of liberty, it is necessary to raise our voices in rejection of these acts that reiterate that there is tyranny in Cuba.
“Faced with a context of constant attacks against #IndependentJournalism, it is urgent to build spaces for articulation between colleagues at both the national and regional levels, respecting the diversity of opinions and ideas, with a common goal: the defense of press freedom. and expression,” reads the publication.

“The order is clear, not to allow people who they consider to be high-profile for security, to meet or leave their provinces, especially if it is a direction to the capital. Let us remember the recent case of the beloved teacher Alina Bárbara López Hernández, who was arbitrarily detained, mistreated, violated and prevented from continuing her journey to the capital. She violates all of her rights as a free citizen. A few days before, I myself was also detained and prevented from continuing to circulate in the province of massacres, with the intention of making some visits and delivering humanitarian aid,” adds the publication by activist Lara Crofs.
