And group of researchers has discovered in Morella (Castelln) the remains of a huge dinosaur that could reach 25 meters in length and 11 meters in height. Its about Garumbatitan morellensisa dinosaur that lived on the peninsula 122 million years ago and had colossal dimensions, according to the group of experts from the University of Lisbon that discovered this find.

The remains have been found at the Sant Antoni de la Vespa site. According to the study carried out, published in the Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, the animal’s femur measures about two meters, which is similar to the size of titanosaurs, the largest dinosaurs known to date.

The remains analyzed were collected from the site between 2005 and 2008. In total, they correspond to at least four specimens.

This species is believed to belong to the Brachiosaurus family, which were herbboros. Its name, Garumbatitan morellensis, has been given in honor of the place where it has been located. According to Pedro Mocho, one of the researchers who participated in the discovery, the study was carried out in collaboration with the Uned Evolutionary Biology group.
