A “journey” of information and knowledge was carried out by students of the Department of Economics – Administration of the 1st EPAL of Konitsa last Friday, in the context of educational-informational visits.


The first stop was the “King Pyrros” International Airport of Ioannina, where the students were informed about the way the airport operates and the development prospects of the airport by the airport master Vasilios Mitsimaris and the representative of the Handling Skyserv company Niki Pavlou.
This was followed by a visit to the Directorate of Tourism of the Region of Epirus, where the director Iulia Markoula and the deputy regional governor for Tourism Ilias Gartzonikas provided information on the contribution of the Region to the development of tourism throughout Epirus, while also testifying about their experience regarding the ways to promote and develop the tourism product as a whole.
The third stop was the Olympic hotel, where one of the owners, Stathis Sioutis, and his colleagues informed the students thoroughly about the methods of promotion and the prospects for the development of tourism, and in particular for the hotel units, providing the students with the opportunity to do a case study study) of a successful family business in the respective industry.
For the students of the Economics – Management sector of the 1st EPAL of Konitsa, a trip to Barcelona, ​​Valencia and other cities of Spain will follow on February 14-26, as part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ program on “Design, Development and Promotion of Alternative Forms of Tourism in the context of the Green Economy”.
