The wave of violence continues to rise in Cuba and in the last few hours it was learned that another young man died during an assault on the communist island.
According to information provided by Cuban journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, the incident occurred in Santiago de Cuba, when the victim, named David Montero Mejías, had his motorcycle stolen.
In that sense, it was learned that the young man resided in Majagual, II Frente municipality in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
Likewise, it was indicated that the boy was the breadwinner for his family, even though he had no children. Apparently, David Montero had his throat cut by the thieves who stole his motorcycle.
“I don’t have the exact details, only that he went for a race and they took out his engine, cut his throat and left him lying off the road,” said a friend.
That same source stated that the event occurred on Wednesday afternoon, and when the young man was found he was still fighting for his life, but before reaching the hospital he died.
Presumably, this new victim of violence in Cuba has not yet been buried and is in the morgue of the Emilio Bárcenas Hospital.
