In Tiruvannamalai district, they broke the machines in 4 ATM centers and looted Rs.73 lakhs. 9 special forces have been formed to arrest the robbery gang.
They conducted active hunting in many areas including Ariana, Gujarat and Karnataka states.
The police have been conducting a continuous search for the last 7 days.
The police arrested the gang leader Mohammad Arif and Ajad from Ariana state who were involved in the robbery. Both of them were lodged in Vellore Jail.
It has been revealed that more than 6 people were involved in this robbery. They have also hoarded Rs.70 lakh.
The two arrested persons have been ordered to be remanded in judicial custody till the 3rd. The Tiruvannamalai Town police decided to take the two into police custody for 7 days and conduct an investigation. They filed a petition in the Tiruvannamalai Court for that today.
Information such as where the rest of the robbers are hiding and where the Rs 70 lakh money is stashed will come out only after the arrest and investigation.
Even after 7 days of the robbery, the police are unable to arrest the other members of the robbery gang.
In the investigation conducted by the private forces, it has been revealed that 3 more members of the robbery gang are hiding in the state of Ariana. The special police stationed there are working to catch them.
In the border area of Ariana and Rajasthan state, two people who had stolen a cow were put in a car and burnt to death by the local people. The incident created a tense situation in the area.
