Anti-Semitic incidents surged in ⁣the Czech Republic in 2023, with ‌a 90% increase compared to the previous ⁣year. The ČTK news‍ agency ‍reported​ this, ‍citing ⁤the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Republic. Day.Az cites⁤ TASS.

A total of ‌4,328 anti-Semitic incidents were registered in the country in 2023, compared to 2,277⁤ in⁤ 2022. The rise is attributed to the worsening international situation.

Almost all (98%) of the anti-Semitic ⁢incidents in 2023 occurred in the virtual⁣ space, primarily on social‌ networks. Offensive lies and conspiracy theories targeting Jews proliferated online. Public events witnessed ⁢57 instances of anti-Semitism.

No violent attacks against ⁤individuals of Jewish nationality were reported in the republic in 2023. ⁢Only ⁤two such incidents have occurred in the Czech Republic over the past five years,⁣ in 2020 and 2021.
