Many football fans dream of experiencing a European Championship in the stadium. The last tickets for this year’s tournament go on sale today. The most important questions.
Football fans who want to attend the European Championships live in the stadium this summer probably have their last realistic chance of getting tickets this Thursday. Starting at 11 a.m., the European Football Union is making a contingent of over 100,000 tickets available to Uefa. The most important questions for fans and interested parties:
What is important?
Above all, it depends on speed – and probably also on a bit of luck. UEFA issues the tickets via the EURO2024.com/tickets website on a first come, first served basis. Judging by the interest so far and the previous ticket phases, a large crowd is expected. The association assumes that the tickets will be sold very quickly – “particularly for games in high demand such as games involving the host country Germany or the final itself.”
Where do the tickets come from?
According to the organizing committee, the additional tranche for the so-called “last-minute sale” was made possible by three factors. On the one hand, tickets are offered that were offered in March and April via the official resale platform. The finalization of the seating plans in the stadiums has also been completed, which has created additional seats.
In addition, according to UEFA, there will be a significant number of discounted tickets for seats with restricted visibility. The number of tickets available varies from game to game.
How have the phases gone so far?
A total of 2.7 million tickets were available before the first sales phase last year. Even in the first phase, in which 1.2 million tickets were for sale, there were over 20 million applications – and a corresponding number of disappointed people. There was also great demand in other phases. As with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, there will be no paper tickets. UEFA relies on an exclusively digital concept.
Are there other options to be in the stadium?
There are also some so-called hospitality packages with tickets, but these are probably out of the question for most fans in terms of price. For the opening game between Germany and Scotland, these tickets start from 3,200 euros, and for the final on July 14th in Berlin from 5,900 euros. For most preliminary round games, packages can be purchased starting at 1,250 euros. The packages are currently available for all 51 tournament games.
