Instagram continues to search for new features with which to capture the attention of users and keep the pulse with TikTok. According to leaker Alessandro Paluzzi, the ‘app’ owned by Meta is testing a new tool called IG Candid, which will ask the user once a day to share a photo that they will have to take with their device’s camera within two minutes. Something similar to what BeReal offers, one of the great revelations within the field of social networks this year.
As is the case with this ‘app’, according to the information shared by Paluzzi through his Twitter account, Instagram It would start showing users alerts on the screen at random times of the day with the aim that they take a photo and share it within two minutes.
By giving the user so little time, the goal is to force him to show himself more authentically, without using touch-ups. That he simply shows what he is doing at that moment, without sugarcoating anything.
In a statement shared with the specialized media ‘The Verge’, Meta, Instagram’s parent company, acknowledges that the functionality is being tested, although at the moment no person outside the company has access. This implies that the tool could soon become a reality, although it is also possible that it will eventually end up being discarded.
Throughout its history, Instagram has been adopting and giving relevance to some of the most outstanding features present in competing applications.
