CUPERTINO Twitter unveiled its new logo today featuring a white ‘X’ image on a black background.

The new logo replaces the long-used blue bird logo as billionaire Elon Musk’s company moves towards a rebranding move.

The social media network site this morning showed the company’s new logo, but the URL still displayed a twitter.com link.

The ‘Tweet’ function is also still visible, indicating that the new brand may not be finalized yet.

Musk and Twitter’s new CEO Linda Yaccarino announced plans to rebrand the social media platform yesterday, saying the company would be known as X.

Musk also changed his profile picture last night to the company’s new logo in what the billionaire describes as “a minimalist art décor.”

He also named Twitter’s parent company X Corporation and added that the acquisition of the social media giant was a quick step towards creating X, which is an app that has everything.

Founded in 2006, Twitter takes its name from the sound of birdsong and has used the brand ever since.
