According to the most recent data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the probability of this transition is 79%.

This was confirmed by Cristian Zuluaga, director of UGEMA, who specified that there will be mornings with high temperatures and nights of precipitation: “Indeed, what is seen in the forecast is that there is an increase in the probability of rain, generalized for the Andean region. of Colombia and also for the department of Risaralda, where we hope that starting March 8 we will begin to have more frequent rains.”

Zuluaga added that greater volume will be seen towards the west and some areas of the south east, as would be the case of Santa Rosa de Cabal: “For now we are not seeing such intense rains because we are in that transition towards the first rainy season. of the region, so they do not represent a very high risk.”

UGEMA also provided recommendations for all agricultural work planning: “It is important to take into account, in the case of fertilization of some tasks, knowing how to plan them so that they are not going to be born hindered by precipitation that could slightly damage these practices.” .

And he added: “It is also an opportunity for them to collect water, in any case, although we are entering the first rainy season, we are still under the effect of the El Niño Phenomenon and the rains are not going to be as abundant as they usually do. during March in our region.”
