This friendship is a gift!
Today singer Thomas Anders celebrates his 60th birthday. Beforehand he met with BILD and ZDF “Bergdoktor” Hans Sigl (53). What the fans of the two crowd favorites don’t know is that they have been a real male friendship for more than ten years.
BILD: How did you two become friends?
Thomas Anders: “We met in 2010 at the wedding of the singer Sandra (biggest hit “Maria Magdalena” – editor’s note).”
Hans Sigl: “I’m by far the younger of the two of us. Thomas is my role model on how to grow older in a relaxed manner. You can’t tell he’s 60.”
Anders: “I still feel very fit, I have regular check-ups by the doctor. My back twitches every now and then. I try to take countermeasures with my personal trainer.”
BILD: Do you age faster on the music stage or in front of the TV camera?
Sigl: “Age is just a number. However, a lot depends on lifestyle.”
Anders: “If I let it rip every day, you’ll see it at some point. I think Hans and I got along very well.”
BILD: Will you ever be seen with a walker?
Anders: “A walker brings many people a quality of life. In my vision for the future, however, a walker is not part of it.”
BILD: You both seem like the cigar and red wine type. Or maybe beer and chips?
Sigl: “More like a cigar and red wine. Though Thomas doesn’t smoke.”
BILD: Do you see yourself as old white or wise men?
Anders: “I see myself as a man with life experience. There is a nice saying: The young run faster, but the old know the way. We both don’t want to be very young again, do we Hans?”
BILD: What do you think when you look in the mirror in the morning?
Anders: “I just need my time to unfold.” (laughs)
In retrospect, what is better today than when you were young?
“I don’t want to be very young again. Going through the whole life-learning process with ups and downs is pretty exhausting. There is a wonderful saying: the young run faster, but the old know the way!”
Are you afraid of old age?
Anders: “No. Rather a bit of melancholy that time is getting shorter backwards. Although I’m not giving up hope of being fit and agile for 100 years.”
Celebrating your 60th?
“I am proud that the city of Koblenz is giving a reception in the theater in my honour, and in the evenings I go out to dinner with my family and closest friends. Big celebrations come in the summer.”
BILD: Which of you gets more love letters?
Anders: “I’m sure we’re addressing very different types of women.”
Sigl: “And immoral offers from women definitely do not fall into our prey scheme.”
