Thornton Beach Rd Crash: Serious Injuries, Traffic Delays Expected

BAY OF PLENTY, New Zealand – Three individuals sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision earlier today.

Three people were hospitalized following a motor vehicle accident in the Bay of Plenty region.

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Thornton Beach Road and West Bank Road. The incident took place around 10:20 a.m.

Hato Hone St John confirmed that a rapid response unit, two ambulances, a helicopter, and an operations manager were dispatched to the scene.

“Three patients were transported to Whakatāne Hospital by road,” a spokesperson stated. “Two of the patients are in serious condition, and one is in moderate condition.”
