Rosenheim, February 5, 2026 – A local radio presenter has sparked a lively debate after composing a song using artificial intelligence. Thorsten Kalteiß, known for his work on Galaxy and AlpinFM, unveiled the AI-generated track, dubbed “Brezn Bua,” and the audience response was anything but predictable.

AI-generated Tune Divides Listeners in Rosenheim

The experiment aimed to blend comedy and technology, but opinions on the AI-composed song were sharply divided.

  • Thorsten Kalteiß created a song using artificial intelligence as a creative experiment.
  • The song, titled “Brezn Bua,” was played on AlpinFM as part of a comedy campaign.
  • Listener reactions ranged from amusement to criticism, with many preferring music created by human musicians.
  • Kalteiß believes AI music lacks the personal connection that fans have with thier favorite artists.
  • He doesn’t plan to create more AI songs temporarily, but is encouraging local artists to create their own “Brezn”-themed tracks.

Thorsten Kalteiß is known for his innovative ideas. The presenter had been considering the possibility of using AI to compose a song for some time, and the result was recently broadcast on the radio. He shared details of the project in an interview, discussing the complexities of the production and why it’s likely to remain a one-time endeavor.

A Comedic Experiment with “Dr. T”

“No, not at all,” Kalteiß said when asked if he was pursuing a new career path. “I simply wanted to see if it was possible to use AI to compose a song that we could then play on Alpin FM.This is how the musician-robot song ‘Brezn Bua’ came about.”

Kalteiß explained that,as a comedian,he aimed to create more then just a song-he envisioned a comedy radio play. He adopted the persona of a “crazy radio scientist,” “Dr. T from Radio galaxy,” and, alongside his “music robots,” debuted the AI-generated music on AlpinFM. The team then monitored the reactions on social media.

“Most listeners said that real musicians can do better,” Kalteiß admitted. “But that’s what I expected. However, some listeners found it quite funny.”

The Production Process: Bavarian dance Music by AI

Kalteiß had been experimenting with AI music generation recently. “Unfortunately, I can neither play an instrument nor sing,” he said. “But I occasionally have ideas for songs. So, I experimented with an AI music generator, requesting a Bavarian song that was danceable. I had the image of something ‘bending like a pretzel’ in my mind, and the song ‘Brezn Bua’ emerged from that.”

He noted that many listeners didn’t immediately recognize the song’s artificial origins.”I think many who hear the song ‘Brezn Bua’ for the first time don’t immediately realize it’s AI music,” he said.”That’s why it was important to us to openly communicate that we created the song with AI. I would have considered anything else immoral. That’s why the song isn’t part of our regular playlists, but was only played as part of the comedy campaign. It was exciting to demonstrate what AI can and cannot do.”
