The Israeli forces seem to be facing a difficult phase, starting with the military operations in Gaza and the tension on the northern front, through to the escalation with Iran.

Israeli media revealed that since October 7, the number of wounded and those suffering from mental and psychological disorders has reached more than 7,000 soldiers.

She added that the rehabilitation wing of the Israeli Ministry of Defense has received about 7,000 wounded and people suffering from mental and psychological disorders since October 7, according to the Israeli Channel 13.

This came after the Rehabilitation Division of the Ministry of Defense published data on the number of wounded, psychologically injured, and victims of post-traumatic stress disorder in Israel.

She revealed that the rehabilitation wing had received 7,209 wounded since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th.

She also explained that about 30% of the wounded and injured who arrived at the rehabilitation ward, including 2,111 wounded, developed various mental reactions.

She added that for about 60% of those who had a mental reaction, and 1,267 infected people, mental adaptation was the main issue.

She then pointed out that about 95% of the recruits are men under the age of 30, and they serve in the reserve service.

Suicidal tendencies

Late last year, Israeli media revealed, quoting officials, that the Army Rehabilitation Department decided to form teams of psychiatrists and nurses capable of dealing with suicidal tendencies, in order to conduct an evaluation of soldiers suffering from psychological disorders.

The new program entered into force last February, including more than 13,500 soldiers receiving treatment from Israel’s previous wars on Gaza.

The head of the Social Service Unit in the Rehabilitation Department, Noa Ruffa, said at the time that some soldiers whose psychological condition had worsened were calling their supervisors or family members seeking relief, stressing that the numbers would double within two years.
