Three Qarabag players became champions of Azerbaijan for the 10th time.
As reported by İdman.biz, Maxim Medvedev, Richard Almeida and Badavi Huseynov have their share in the successes achieved over the past 11 years.
They won seven gold medals in a row in the 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 seasons. In the 2021/22, and 2022/23, 2023/24 seasons, the mentioned Qarabag players won the title for the 3rd time in a row and for the 10th time in total.
One of these players, Richard Almeida, did not play in one season of the Agdam club. But in the 2020/21 season, Qarabag could not win the championship without him.
These three players are close to a record number of Azerbaijani championship titles. The player who has won the most gold medals is Mahmud Gurbanov. He has 11 championships in 6 different clubs. The former midfielder won gold medals with the clubs Kapaz (1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99), Neftchi (1996/97, 2003/04, 2004/05), Shamkir (1999/2000, 2000) /01), Khazar Lankaran (2006/07), Inter (2007/08), Baku (2008/09).
It should be noted that Qarabag secured its 11th championship in history in the XXVIII round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
