Three technical and administrative servants in education took office this Friday (03/03), at the Malês campus: Wander Luís de Oliveira Silva (pedagogue); Wellington Sales dos Santos Júnior (technician in educational matters); and Cláudio Marcelo de Santana Ferreira (administration assistant). The new servers join the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (Unilab) via public tender notice in August 2022.

The rector of Unilab Roque Albuquerque; vice-rector Claudia Carioca; the director of the Malês campus Mírian Reis; and the superintendent of People Management Adriano Nascimento. Unilab managers welcomed the new technical-administrative staff and presented the staff at the Malês campus.

Director Mírian Reis thanked her new colleagues for choosing Unilab and pointed out that the campus in Bahia has 43 technical-administrative staff, 32 outsourced technicians, 90 teachers and 1,247 students with active enrollment, 346 of whom are from Angola, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.

She highlighted Unilab’s unique institutional mission, which has solidarity among peoples as a basic principle in its statute. “Solidarity is what inspires us. Here you will discover that the commitment to provide an anti-racist education needs to be a commitment from each and every one of us, because that way we understand that it is the democratic construction of our country. My feeling today is that you are indeed welcome and we were looking forward to your arrival”, said the director.

Unilab’s dean, Roque Albuquerque, also pointed out a commitment for the new servers. “When someone comes looking for you, always look at them with an empathetic look and treat them with the utmost dignity, because there is the golden principle of relationships, which is to do to others what you want them to do to you”, he highlighted.
