Pößneck (Thuringia) – From the pear to the bed, from the beet to the beets! “Möhrchen-Patrick”, the man with Germany’s thickest vegetables in the garden, parted with his thick mane. And now fertilizes kohlrabi, turnips and beetroot with his hair.

As every year, “Möhrchen-Patrick” Teichmann (31) let his hair grow over the winter months. Now it went to the hairdresser, he lost 15 centimeters. But the head of hair did not end up in the garbage, but in his garden in Pößneck in the Saale-Orla district. “I use the hair as organic fertilizer,” explains the giant vegetable grower. “The rest is nesting material for the birds.”

In addition to his hair fertilizer, he also uses the legacies of chickens, penguins and even elephants to grow his XXL vegetables.
