TikTok Not Spying: CEO Explains, World News

by time news

WASHINGTON: Social media platform TikTok is not spying on Americans, its CEO Zhao Zixiu has said.

In recent years the TikTok app has been widely used all over the world.

In this case, Acheyli, created by a Chinese company called ‘Bite Dance’, was accused of spying on Americans and providing information about the United States to the Chinese government.

Following this, US government officials were banned from using the device.

But, that alone was not enough, many members of the American Parliament were insisting that the entire United States should ban Acheyali.

Following this, Mr. Shao Xiu appeared before the parliamentary committee yesterday and explained that the allegations against Tik Tok are not true.

“I can assure you that TikTok is not working for China or other countries. More than 150 million Americans love TikTok. We are very aware that we have a responsibility to protect them,” said Mr Shaw.

He noted that TikTok is a global company even though it is an app created by a Chinese company.

Stating that Tiktok has its headquarters in Singapore and Los Angeles, he added that the claim that Tiktok is spying is completely fictitious.

Afghanistan, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, India, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Taiwan, UK, USA and the European Union have partially or completely banned TikTok.
