Timekettle launched the LiveTalk AI Interpreter Earbuds on October 8, 2026, priced at $129. The 6.9-gram open-ear devices run on Babel OS 3.0, supporting real-time translation across 54 languages and 108 accents for travelers, students, and light business users.
Timekettle expanded its line of cross-language communication devices with the introduction of the LiveTalk AI Interpreter Earbuds. Priced at $129, the open-ear hardware is designed to integrate multilingual translation into daily routines rather than serving solely as a specialized tool for sudden language barriers. According to Timekettle Founder and CEO Leal Tian, the company developed the device so users can utilize real-time interpreting naturally throughout the day. Language barriers don't only happen in formal meetings — they happen while traveling, studying, making a phone call, watching foreign-language content or simply meeting someone new,
Tian stated, noting that the goal was to make interpreting a continuous daily utility.
Babel OS 3.0 Powers Four Translation Modes
Running on Timekettle’s Babel OS 3.0, LiveTalk supports four distinct translation modes tailored to everyday scenarios. Face-to-Face Translation captures speech through a smartphone microphone and delivers interpreted audio through the earbuds, utilizing AI Translation Refinement to make sentences sound more natural in context. This mode is particularly useful for travel, dining, hotel check-ins, social interactions, and light business conversations.
Voice Call Translation handles supported voice calls and online calling, while Multi-Media Translation processes foreign-language audio from podcasts, videos, and online courses. Both call and multimedia modes allow simultaneous connection to two Bluetooth devices, such as a smartphone and a computer, eliminating the need to constantly disconnect and re-pair.
Hardware Design and Audio Architecture
The hardware supports over four hours of continuous translation or up to eight hours of music playback on a single charge. LiveTalk’s voice pickup utilizes a dual-microphone setup, differing from the bone-conduction voice sensing paired with microphones found in Timekettle’s W4 family aimed at professional users.
For everyday listening, each earbud incorporates an 11mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm and a high-damping polyurethane surround. Users can choose from six preset EQ options or customize settings through the Timekettle App. When translation activates, the earbuds automatically switch to a speech-optimized EQ profile that prioritizes vocal clarity and reduces low-frequency interference.
