It’s over for Tita. The coach of the Brazilian national team announced that he is leaving his position after the big failure and the surprising elimination against the Croatian national team on penalties in the quarter-finals. After the goal of winning the World Cup was not achieved, the coach decided that he must leave in February.
The 61-year-old Brazilian coach coached in Corinthians from the local league before starting his career in the national team in June 2016, when he also stood on the sidelines in the 2018 World Cup and was dismissed at the exact same stage with the 2:1 loss to the Belgian national team.
Tita’s balance in the team is good, when in 81 games he won 61 times, 13 draws and seven losses when he also managed to lead the Brazilian team to win the Copa America. But in the end, the last year under his management was a disappointment when he lost in the Copa final in 2021 and today he was unable to march the talented generation of the Selecao to the real goal, which is to return the World Cup to the South American country after 20 years.
