Today Albert Azaryan, multiple champion of the world, European and Olympic Games, honored master of sports of the USSR, referee of international class, honored figure of physical culture and sports of RA, turned 85 years old.
Azaryan was born in 1929 in Gandzak.
1939 moved to Vanadzor, and in 1947 to Yerevan. 1944 After his father’s death, he worked as a blacksmith’s apprentice while simultaneously attending evening school.
Azaryan started playing sports in 1946. First, he became interested in wrestling and weightlifting, then, in parallel with studying at the Armenian Physical Education Technical College, Albert Azaryan started practicing sports gymnastics under the guidance of Semyon Karagyozyan.
In 1952, Azaryan became the USSR ring champion for the first time. 1954 He participated in the World Championship competitions in Italy as a member of the USSR national team and became the world champion in rings.
1955 Arl. He took part in the European Championship in Germany and won two medals – from hoops and jumbo. 1956 In Australia, he became the champion of the Olympic Games in rings.

1963 participated in the Small Olympic Games of the Asian countries in Indonesia, where he won two gold medals – from the rings and the pole vault, and became the absolute champion.
In total, Albert Azaryan won 45 gold, 42 silver and 10 bronze medals.
