Thomas, Beloved Mayo Resident, Passes Away Suddenly

A deeply respected member of the Castlebar, Co. Mayo community, Thomas passed away unexpectedly at Mayo University Hospital, surrounded by his family. His sudden passing has left a void in the lives of many, and tributes are pouring in from across the region and beyond.

Thomas’s life was marked by strong family ties and a commitment to his community. He is survived by his partner, Linda, and his sons, Michael, Thomas, and Stephen, along with their mother, Theresa. He was a cherished grandfather to Alexander, Adam, and Owen, and his memory will undoubtedly live on through them.

A Life Remembered in Castlebar and Straide

Born and raised in Straide, Thomas later resided in Derrylahan, Chestnut Grove, Castlebar. He was a familiar and friendly face to many, known for his kindness and generosity. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, John, and sisters Mary, Bridget, Katherine, and Patricia. His extended family, including his daughters-in-law Sylvia, Izabela, and Liz, along with numerous nieces and nephews, mourn his loss.

Thomas was predeceased by his brothers, James and Edward, a source of deep sorrow for the family.

Funeral Arrangements and Memorials

Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects at the residence of his sister, Bridget, located at Knockshanvalley, Straide, Foxford, Co. Mayo, F26 YF85, on Thursday, January 7th, beginning at 3:00 PM. A removal service will take place at 6:45 PM, proceeding to The Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, with arrival scheduled for 7:30 PM.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 AM, after which the funeral procession will move to Straide Old Cemetery for the final resting place. For those unable to attend in person, the Funeral Mass can be viewed online at www.churchtv.ie/castlebar.

The family has requested that family flowers be omitted. Instead, donations in Thomas’s memory are gratefully accepted to the Parkinsons Association at www.parkinsons.ie or can be sent in care of Clarkes Funeral Services, Foxford.
