Polish Gaming Community Demands Localization for ‘Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’
A united front of Polish gaming media and fans are escalating pressure on Amazon Game Studios to include Polish language support in the upcoming ‘Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’ remake.
The announcement of a new Tomb Raider installment and a remake of the original game at The Game Awards 2025 ignited excitement among fans worldwide.Though,the reveal of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has been met with disappointment in Poland due to the apparent lack of a native language version. This omission is notably jarring given the series’ long history of Polish localization.
The initial concern stemmed from the Steam game card, which did not list Polish as a supported language. After an inquiry to Amazon game Studios went unanswered for over 72 hours, a coalition of prominent Polish gaming outlets – including GameOnly.pl,CD-Action.pl, LaraCroft.pl,Konsolowe.info, Eurogamer.pl,Pograne.eu, NaEkranie.pl, Gram.pl,and Grajpopolsku.pl – took collective action.
On Thursday, the group published an open letter, written in English, directly appealing to Amazon Game Studios to reconsider and add Polish localization to the remake.The campaign is being amplified on social media under the hashtag #bedegrauwgre.
“According to the Steam card, Polish language support will not even be available in the form of subtitles,” a representative from the coalition stated. “this is unacceptable given the strong Polish fanbase and the consistent localization of previous Tomb Raider titles.”
Indeed,every Tomb Raider game released as 2003 has been localized for Polish players,even extending to mobile productions like Tomb Raider Reloaded for Android and iOS. This established precedent makes the decision to exclude Polish from Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis all the more perplexing to the community.
“As polish players, we all love the Tomb Raider brand,” the open letter reads. “We loved the older games, we loved the new ones too, and thousands of us had a blast playing the remasters of Episodes I-VI as we waited for the next installment of Lara Croft’s adventures.”
The lack of response from Amazon Game Studios has further fueled frustration. While Tomasz Gop from Flying Wild Hog previously addressed the possibility of Polish localization, he did not offer any concrete details.
Adding to the pressure, a fan-created petition urging Amazon Games to add Polish language support has already garnered nearly 10,000 signatures.
The Polish gaming community awaits a response from Amazon Game Studios.
